The 12 Annual Felton Merino Sale took place at Dordrecht on 26 January. On offer were 385 open ewes that sold for an average of R1280 and 103 rams. 102 were sold at an averag of R6770. Top ram, lot 25, was sold to Peter Cloete farming for R24,000. Lot 02 was sold for R17,000 to Mr AF Bradfield and son. Congratulations to Claude and Des for an excellent quality of the Merinos on offer this year !. The auctioneer was Mr Allan Sinclair.

EAST CAPE SOUTH DEVON CLUB SALE
The season kicked off with the East Cape South Devon Sale in August at Winston, near Cathcart. Andiro South Devon stud and Winston South Devon Stud offered 28 quality bulls and 11 registered pregnant South Devon cows by silent auction. Lot 02, ANDIRO 09 20 , of Andiro South Devon Stud of Barkly East fetched the top price of R45,000 and was sold to Mr Jaco van der Merwe of Vrede. The top priced bull of the Winston South Devon Stud of Cathcart was Lot07 JM09001 and was sold to Mr ACO Du Plessis of Coligny and fetched R36,500. The bulls averaged R22,210.00 and the cows R13,275.00.

AMATHOLE NGUNI BREEDERS 2nd PROD. SALE
Die Amathole Nguni Telersgroep het onlangs op die plaas Granta in die Komga distrik hul tweede produksie veiling gehou. Altesaam 106 vroulike diere en 16 bulle is aangebied op die veiling onder die beskerming van die Nguni beestelersgenootskap. Die veiling is aangebied deur Sheard Auctioneers en die afslaer was Mnr Gert Coetsee. Pryse was soos volg.
